Is it safe to eat the food freezed for 5 days...? How to deny my friend...

When I visited my friend's house,he was eager to receive me and invited me for dinner. I was a little bit hesitant as I know pretty well how he stores his food items in the fridge. When you open the door there will be some unknown smell which can not be explained or compared to anything. The milk will be smelling and the Curd kept inside the fridge will have a yellowish layer on the top of it. The leafy vegetables will be looking pale (I do not know how many days they are lying there). His wife prepares the food nicely for a week and keeps it inside the fridge for a week or so. She keeps even the rice inside which will be wet with water drops around the vessel. They take some quantity from each food item and heat them up for serving. Do you prefer eating such food.? Whenever he invites me I am unable to tell him the truth. Can you suggest me how to reject him smoothly..?
