Day 113 Psalm 113 Psalm 113:1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. 2 Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. 3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’S name is to be praised. 4 The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens. 5 Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwells on high, 6 Who humbles himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth! 7 He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the dunghill; 8 That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people. 9 He makes the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD. It’s easy to praise God when everything is going right in your life. It’s easy to bless his name and laud him for all he has done in heaven and in earth. What’s hard is to give the same praise to him when things look grim and your life is in chaos. However, that’s the time when we need to give God praise most. We don’t know who the psalmist is or what his circumstances. This psalm could be one of David’s who praised God regularly in good times and in bad. This psalm could also be from one of the priests in exile who endured hardship every day and still found it easy to give God praise. As Christians, it should be easy to praise God for all he’s done for us in providing Jesus, his Son, as our Savior and Lord. We have a lot to be joyful about, even when Satan would make us think otherwise. Paul and Silas were in prison, and yet were able to sing psalms of praise to God. Doing so broke their chains and the prison doors opened as an earthquake shook the prison where they were. Not only were they set free, they were able to free the jailer from Satan’s hold on him and set him free to eternal life. Acts 16:23 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely: 24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. 25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. 26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed. 27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. 28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. 29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, 30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. 32 And they spoke unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. 34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house. 35 And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go. We never know what our praise will accomplish, but God does. So whatever situation you find yourself, good or bad, praise God as the psalmist did, and you too will feel the shackles Satan put on you fall off. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, to be my Savior and Lord. Help me praise you in every situation in my life, good or bad. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. I believe that we need God in all days of our lives, it may be when we are down or we are in good situation. What is important is we thank Him everyday, for every little thing, the air that we breathe and the food we eat. For our loved ones who are there when we are in need and those who we do not know, a bus driver, grocery attendant or to a policeman. In evrything and everyone, we must thank Him. God bless..

You're right, we should.
