Facebook Friends

How do you choose Facebook friends? Used to just confirm everyone. To be fair most were recommended or had some incentive to further me along in a Facebook game. Now, not so much. I look very closely because I learned all walks of life might be more damaging than good. They have to either know someone I trust or have the qualities that I believe in. My love of punk rock will only get someone so far. Basically, if you do not practice what you preach, then do not come knocking on this door. Pretty honored,as my former Marine roommates son requested to be my friend the other day. Never have met his family. Do not know much about him, but know my former roommate very well. If he was raised by him, must be one honorable gentleman. Facebook is not bad all the time.

I am very picky - most of the time they have to be someone I know in real life.

That does work, until you friend people you do not know. Then mutual friends are a toss up for some.

I look to see where the user are friends with. And if I can't place them, I either delete or just watch for recognition.

Sounds like a well educated approach. Always something to think of because I go by gut 99 percent of the time and can lead into a lot of trouble. lol

I only have people I know and talk to often or care for a lot. I go through phases of deleting people I have not talked to in quite some time. It can suggest people I know through mutual friends, but doesn't mean I will add them.

I don't bother much with cleaning people up either. Every once in a blue moon I will delete someone but only because they had it coming. I always think I must of had a reason.

This is one of few posts that praised Facebook or said positive things about it. Yes, you're right Facebook is not bad at all time. In fact it helps us in some other ways.

It does in a weird twisted way and only if you know what you are looking for. I hate giving Facebook credit. lol

If they are friend of someone I know that I except them as a friend.

That is the smart way to do it. I also read their posts if they allow it.

I don't accept friend requests on FB if I am not familiar with the one requesting. Mostly, those who make the requests are young students who may not have other things to do or are just interested to browse whatever photos I may have.
