Only to die a year later...
Katherine, Catherine, Katarina.
In the year 1543 on July 12th (today) she married Henry VIII. Katherine was probably the most cunning of his wives, surviving his wrath by her quick thinking and humble tongue.
Of course the most intriguing part of her life was that of her quick marriage to Thomas Seymour. I know decorum stated that an extended period of mourning (I want to say it was a year? I don't rightly know though) was expected before a lady was to marry another.
Not only her quick marriage but her parentage of Elizabeth I and the "supposed" affair that allegedly went on between she (Elizabeth) and Thomas Seymour.
The most tragic part, however, was that she would die only a year after her late husband.
