I used my paypal money to buy a domain

Having my own domain name is something that I look forward to since I want to have my own site where I can write regularly. And now, I successfully bought a domain from namecheap. I paid using the money I earned from Mylot and I felt good because I know I used my money in a good way. I signed up for a free hosting so that I do not have to spend all my money for my own blog. At the moment, I am stuck with hosting since I do not know much about it. I have zero knowledge and I know I have to do lots of studying and research before I can finally launch my own blog. I am planning to launch it on my birthday as a gift for myself How do you use your hard earned money online?

Did you also buy it from namecheap? I have read some reviews first before deciding to buy my domain in namecheap. Godaddy and Namecheap are both good companies but I have read better reviews about Namecheap than Godaddy.

Hi! It cost $9.84 for a year. It is my first time to register there. There is also a company that offers less than a dollar for a year. I think it is 1and1 dot com but the reviews I have read about it are not good so I decided to go for namecheap.

@jayaramas Yes, that is what I have observed too. Anyway, I think we can have an option to go for a company that will let you pay for a lower price rather than renew with a high price on the same company.

I use my online earnings to pay for my credit card fees. Hehe! Congrats on getting a domain! I want to get my own domain and hosting for my blog, too. I don't know but every time I have the budget for it (after many online and freelance tasks), something comes up and I'd have to use the money I saved for something else.

@annierose I researched about 000webhost and read that they had some security issues last year. How is it today? Do you think they have come up with a successful way of securing their member's info? Hope to see your site once it's launched.

@moonchild117 I do not know much about its security issues. But I hope it is finally resolved now. I hope to be able to do some major changes by next month. Do you have your blog too?

hi @moonchild! I just paid my domain but for hosting, I went for a free hosting which is 000webhosting. As I am still starting, I just used their suggested Website Builder so I can start working with my blog. Uploading a wordpress seems complicated at the moment.

I remember that my first pay online was from a freelancing project that i had completed for a client. I was on the moon. I was naive back then so i spent it on some goodies that i had always wanted. Now things have changed. I use my money wisely and invest it wherever i can. Congratulations on your new venture. I suggest that you look up online about wordpress. Its easy and the best thing to go with if you want to start up a blog. Good Luck!

I hope so but I think I will not think of earnings yet. I have to focus on its content first and how to promote it.

@annierose The fastest way to promote is, to search where the people are. Social Media.

That's nice for you to use your online earning to buy the domain name. So far I will save my online earning to Paypal account and I will transfer it to my bank account in Hong Kong once it is up to HKD1000 as the charge will be free.

That is what I am thinking too. I need to have at least $100 USD in my paypal so that there will be no more withdrawal fee when I transfer it here in our country. Are you in Hong Kong now?

The cost of domain is $9.84. I did not pay for hosting. I went to 000webhost dot com for a free hosting as I am just a beginner. What I just want is a domain of my own.

I think that Godaddy has many customers too. That was the one suggested to me but when I told my friend I am looking for a cheaper company, he suggested namecheap to me.

Those that are deposited via Paypal, I let it stay in my PayPal account. Those I received from Upwork & other translation sites, I used them in opening my dollar account.

Hi @rina! Thanks for sharing. The first time that I spent my money in Paypal was what I did yesterday and that was buying for my own domain name. I am thinking to be more active here to replace the money I used in Paypal. I am trying to save more for emergency purposes.
