For centuries, Filipinos and some Southeast Asians had been using Avocados for desserts. We love them because they were creamy and they work well with condensed milk. The Whole world on the other hand see the Avocados differently. They use these creamy fruits for savory dishes. Most countries around the world uses them for savory dishes like Guacamole, Avocado Pasta, Avocado burger and even Sushi.
Today is avocado season in the Philippines so I challenge all Filipinos to try Avocados the way other countries use them. Do you think you can handle it, or are you scared? I remember meeting an American who got culture shocked because he is so creeped out we use avocados for desserts.
If you are not Filipino, I challenge you to try dessert recipes that uses avocado.
The recipe I embeded is a Guacamole. It is a Mexican sauce used for Nachos and tacos. Americans loves using them for hotdogs.

A sandwich with ham and cheese may work for non cooks. Other countries use them for breaded french fries. Have you ever opened an unripe one? usually we throw that away but they can be used as potato substitute.
If you're a big fan of avocado and fries, you'll definitely love this delicious recipe! Try it out at home and let us know what you think of it. Thanks for w...

You're right - I know it more as a "savory" ingredient. We make our own guacamole, and I do my own version of a California Roll, or I'll toss it in a salad or I'll open one up and eat it with a spoon. I might throw some on a burger if we have it. Hmmm, can't think of anything else we really do with avocados in our house.
Yah, it is difficult for me to think of avocado in a dessert. I found this recipe that MAYBE I will try . . . I can't picture the taste of it . . . but if it's pie, I know my kids will eat it. It has sweet condensed milk in it so maybe you would know how this would taste.
Oops: edit - not sure if I could post the link . . . but it was for California Summer Avocado Pie
California Avocado grower John Scudder has been making this creamy pie for over 25 years. California Avocado and lemon juice, rather than lime juice, create its pretty color and tropical taste.

this is one of the popular avocado desserts in my country. No cooking required. I remember trying to make guacamole in a party. My filipino friends are too scared and freaked out with the idea of a sauce made of avocado.
Avocados also work well with chocolate. In smoothies it works well with bananas.

How do you use them in China? for desserts or for savory dishes? Japan loves using them with cheese and meat. Vietnam loves them for desserts.

I am planning to make guacamole and try it with burgers and hotdogs. I want to know why Americans love this combination so much. I heard a slice of avocado will work well with a piece of shrimp.

I may try it some other time. I think it may taste weird for me. I'm contented with just my avocado shake or smoothie
