No work, no pay for absentee lawmakers

Just heard this from the news hours ago. There was a suggestion that Philippine lawmakers should have a 'no work, no pay' policy since there have been notable people who have records of absences. Since lawmakers are public servants, they should be the paid and perform as any working citizen, whether it is a private or public employee - if you don't work, you don't get paid. Personally, as a working employee, this is fair. They are public servants, they get their salary from the tax we pay them - tax that is already deducted from the people's paycheck. It is good that pay is equivalent to performance - just liek what many employees are subjected to. Do you agree with the proposal? or not? Discuss.

Hopefully. It will pass and some congressman will actually show up and work like they're supposed to.

Filipinos are fond of finding ways to go around the bush. The lawmakers could come, have their attendance checked and then go gallivanting thereafter.

I absolutely agree with this. And has this been already taken into consideration already by the lawmakers? I bet, they will not, because many will be affected. They didn't attend , so they should be deducted from their salary for that. No work, no pay indeed for the absentees.
