The Associated Press reports the Texas Rangers are expected to have the services of their right handed starting pitcher Yu Darvish from the 15 day disabled list this week. Darvish had been placed on the 15 day disabled list on June 13, 2016 which was retroactive to June 9 due to neck injury that caused him to feel tightness in his right shoulder. Darvish last pitched five innings on June 8, 2016 in a game versus the Houston Astros when he felt stiffness in his neck which led to tightness in his right shoulder. Darvish did not pitch in any baseball games for the Rangers during the 2015 baseball season since he had Tommy John surgery on March 17, 2015. The Chicago Cubs will be hosting the Rangers this weekend at Wrigley Field in Chicago Illinois starting on Friday. Darvish will be making his next start on Saturday. Darvish had pitched two games for the Frisco RoughRiders which is the AA minor league team of the Rangers during a rehabilitation assignment this month before he was cleared to return to the Major League team this week.

It will be interesting to see how well Darvish pitches considering he could only go 5 innings after a year off.
