The Ladies’ Room by Carolyn Brown

I picked up The Ladies’ Room by Carolyn Brown at the library. I wanted sometime light and fun to read while on vacation. I ended up reading the entire book before we even left. Brown is an awesome storyteller with vivid descriptions and a wicked sense of humor. The laugh out loud scenes were balanced with bittersweet moments that touched the heart. I haven’t read a lot of romances in the last few years. Too many count on sex scenes to carry a weak storyline. While today’s romances are too dependent on sex, The Ladies’ Room errored in the other direction. It was almost too sweet. It was released in 2011 but parts of it felt like it was written pre-1970’s. One kiss and Trudy realized she’d fallen in love, and that was after months of working side by side with the guy. Sorry, I’m not buying that. Overall I enjoyed The Ladies’ Room. A little more romance (not sex) would have added to the story, but it was still an entertaining read. Next time I need something fun and easy to read I’ll pick up another one of Carolyn Brown’s books. Overall Rating: 4 Stars The photo is my own.

This book sounds like one I would be interested in reading. I wonder if they have it for my Nook. I will have to go and see.

At a guess I would say yes. Most the big name authors have their books available on Kindle and Nook.

I saw a play called the Changing Room, which was nothing like this book. I love her books, too.
