The most tourist destination Mollarca, in Spain is turned out to be a bane for the residents. About 80% of the Mollarca's Economy is dependent on Tourism. Foreigners account for 40% of property sales in Mollarca. Selling of vintage clothing and hiring of Vespa scooters has become a big business and is adding to the daily income in leaps and bounds. A small apartment is fetching thousands of Euros. Rents are also on alarming. But, the locals are unable to afford such rents. Recently painted slogans appearing on the walls 'TOURISM IS DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY' 'TOURISTS GO HOME , REFUGEES WELCOME'. Is it not quite amazing...to see such posters and slogans when the Island is getting good foreign currency?

Everything has become costly. The locals are unable to meet the cost of living. A small hut was given on rent for thousand Euros. It may look nice. But, what about the people who are local there? Can they afford to pay such huge rents ?

@shivamani10 Oh, I see. There's really a valid reason to ban tourists there. For the comfort of the locals they should ban tourists.

This problem is not only in Mollarca but also in other places. I have seen a few. The place is shown as the best tourist site. When you roam around, you will see the locals deprived of what supposed to be their own. Their fishing industry has turned into beach resort; their farm lands have turned into golf course. They were displaced and living just in the remote side.

@shivamani10 this is an open secret problem. The investors and owners of the resorts counting their money everyday... the locals are living in the shanties and surviving the hardship of living.
