Giving money to lunatics is stupid.

Why do we give money to mad people when we know they might not have the sense to spend it? I think we should buy food for them instead of giving them money that they may just throw away or light a fire to stay warm. What's your views?

Avoid handing out money. Help out with things like food or buying necessary things is what I do. If I do give out cash, it is no longer mine to care how it is spent. Although it would surely trouble me if it is wasted.
