To be young again...Yeah, glad that's over..

So I'm sure many of you have seen news articles and segments on televised news about Pokemon GO! Feels like we're back in 1999 and 2000 all over again, doesn't it? Regardless, I keep hearing crap about people crossing busy streets, falling off of cliffs, sneaking into zoos afterhours, and crap. Geez, kids these days... Doesn't anyone know how to multitask? Or at least wait until the location opens the next day so you can enter? Though given the kind of kids they keep showing that do this, I'm not surprised by the lack of attentiveness and sense of safety...Christ, I'm being reminded of why I tend to hate living in America...But I'm tempted to get a smart phone, download the app and show these kids how it's done. I mean , they're not sitting on their bums mashing buttons on a handheld device, they're walking about in real environments searching for digital creatures detected at certain locations! Christ!!!!

@msiduri Yeah, that's a reference to a line I heard in a cartoon when I was a kid. And it's something that crosses my mind whenever I see crap like this... I never thought I'd be happy to be three years away from thirty... I get why many wish to be young again. I mean four to five hours before writing this post, I remanisced about how easy it was to be a kid. Then I saw the news broadcast that inspired this post, and thought:"Never mind... I'm happy with being twenty seven years old..." Plus with some of the crap I saw and put up with, and how emotionally sensitive I was... I really am glad my childhood is over...

I have told my 12-year old son how stupid it would be to risk your life outside just to get a pokemon! Glad he doesn't have that game.

there have been a ton of accidents to kids on the prowl for Pokemon 'Go even my 59 year old son found some of the characters in his coffee house he goes too. They get excited and forget traffic laws dart across the start and get hit, all sorts of stuff. two men here in Orange county fell off a hill looking for the Pokemom Go characters

@Hatley So they get excited and rush into the situation without thinking... Dang, speaking from experience, that's not an age thing. I still get overly excited and rush into situations, but I take a moment to temper myself and expectations. But as a Pokemon fan, I get it... Finding a new Pokemon is exciting, especially for those of us who would collect things long before I came into being 20 years ago...(MAN I'M OLD!!! Dx) But then again, this might just be me, as I've been getting that hyped up so long, as I'm slowly been easing myself into not getting into a frenzy. But this a double edged sword, as I feel I might be robbing myself of emotions in the process... I might end up being like a robot in the next two to three years if I'm not careful...

Yes, I wish people would just go for a walk, look up, and enjoy whatever is around them! They don't even need Pokemon Go to do that!

@Hanyouyomi - Some of the kids who have so much are not necessarily going to do well later on in life. I grew up in a poor neighborhood and didn't even realize it until I was older. I lived in Oakland, CA when the Black Panthers ran that city ... and did as good a job as anyone else has.

@DeborahDiane *facepalm* Miss...Miss... This post was written out of pure, unadulterated, unfiltered cynicism... Your response adds fuel to that fire... Because you're right. They don't need Pokemon Go to get out of the house and see the world, which is telling... But that's why I implied that they grew up in safer environments that...Keep them sheltered... Because in lower income neighborhoods like mine, I still see kids running around, riding bikes, etc. But they don't have much, unlike the kids that keep getting reported about this stuff... It's amazing how I'm not a black panther...
