Did God create other planets as well?

I don't have a Bible so I can't exactly look at this myself. Plus, I wouldn't know where to find the answer anyway. I am assuming in the first part where it talks about how he created Earth and the heavens etc Does the Bible mention him creating all the other planets? ( Saturn, Mars, Venus etc ) Also, what happens if NASA discovered another planet like Earth or another planet in general ( which actually I thought they did but that news came and went quick as anything ) or what if a whole other solar system was found? Wouldn't this clash with the Bible if these other things were found that the Bible doesn't mention? Thanks in advance. :) My curious mind about the Bible is ticking away again.

I think God created anything and everything out there, even if it doesn't specifically mention it in the Bible (although I consider the "heavens" mentioned in the Bible to include other planets as well). My personal philosophy--and this isn't anything preached by the church--is that the Bible was written in terms that humans of the time could understand. Up until recent modern history, humans would have had no concept of how vast the universe is and what it contains; hell, we still don't really know because we're only just now starting to discover what's really out there! Could you imagine if God spoke of this vast universe in the Bible? First, we wouldn't have any idea what it meant; and 2) early humans would have probably been totally freaked out about it. I don't think our puny brains can fathom what is actually out there!

@itslikethistome Thanks for sharing! Some things (like the intricate details of the universe) are best left to God. Humans are only such a small little speck on the grand scheme of things that we truly don't need or deserve to know all the secrets the universe holds.

Jeff Moffitt so very true! If God put every little detail, all the specifications, temperatures, chemical reactions, the lengths of time spans that it took to create everything in the universe, everything on the earth and its infinite variety of life forms, etc., and compiled all that information into countless libraries of books/and on the internet, we would still be reading page one of Genesis chapter one. Simply put as you've said stated, our brains could not handle, let alone process all that information....It would be like trying to force feed a newborn baby to eat steak, cornbread or other heavy foods that would that could cause the baby to choke and possibly die. God out of His loving wisdom chose not to give us such mind boggling specifics and details when creating the earth, the universe, life forms on the earth, as well as our own human body. A few simple yet powerful explanations was all that was needed. What a loving Creator. Interestingly, I've read in the Bible at Ecclesiastes 3:11 that "mankind will never find out the work (all the specifics and details of God's creative works and productions) that the true God has made from start to finish" When you think about that statement that King Solomon made, it really makes sense for humans not to know EVERYTHING or every little detail concerning the creation of all things by God, because then we might get to thinking that we are God. We might get to thinking that we know just as much as God if not more than Him. So there is much wisdom in this verse. :D

This questions used to bother me so much that my heart would start beating faster and my mind would run miles a minute. Now I believe no body has the answer. First I want the answer to the question "How world/ universe/ space/whatever was created?" Religious people may say Holy Books or God answer this question. I would want to ask them "Where the hell even the concept of God came from?" "Who created God itself?" Scientists may explain using Hydrogen-Helium gas particles theory or something like that. Now to them my question would be "Dude where do those gases came from?" "Hell where do the atoms and sub atomic particles came from?" I mean there must be some beginning right? So what was it? If they are able to find that beginning then what was the beginning of that beginning?

Genesis 1:1 American Standard Version (ASV) 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Everything but God has a beginning but God is the Beginner and the Creator. Psalm 90:2 Darby Translation (DARBY) 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, and thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from eternity to eternity thou art God.

Let God be God. What has been revealed to us is for us but what has been concealed remains to be God's secret. When we stand before Him we will ask that.

@TRBRocks420 um... and how do you know that? Were you there to witness it? And if you said Bible or Jesus or whatever said it, I am going to scream.

I would think since God created the Earth and the heavens I take it to mean the other planets.

Genesis 1:1 American Standard Version (ASV) 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. "Heavens" would apply to everything other than the earth. The Bible focuses on the earth. I know the words moon, sun and stars are mentioned a number of times. I did a search and in the following verse a number of translations use the word "planets." 2 Kings 23:5 Young's Literal Translation (YLT) 5 And he hath caused to cease the idolatrous priests whom the kings of Judah have appointed, (and they make perfume in high places, in cities of Judah and suburbs of Jerusalem,) and those making perfume to Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of the heavens. As far as I'm concerned there is much to discover. Notice that the word "heavens" in Genesis is in the plural. What does that mean? Could there be other universes? Notice this verse describing God: 1 Kings 8:27 Young's Literal Translation (YLT) 27 But, is it true? -- God dwelleth on the earth! lo, the heavens, and the heavens of the heavens do not contain Thee, how much less this house which I have builded! What does that mean? Continue being genuinely curious and you will discover things we can't even imagine and even the way to live forever.

God created the heavens and the earth. Read Genesis. You can find the whole bible online. You can also search for commentary about different bible verses and passages.

The bible doesn't actually say about the other planets, but when the bible was written the planets weren't discovered. It is assumed that God made the planets as well.

This would be another full topic for me to answer this, so I'll try for the short version. Yes, God created the planets. As you alluded to, you see it mentioned in Genesis 1 in the story of creation. King David also mentions the universe in his psalms. Job 38 tells of God's wondrous works of creation and mentions the stars by name, specifically the Pleiades and Orion. God's work of creation isn't limited to the first six days. God's Word still goes forth. Everything NASA finds in the vast universe, all the new planets being found, and the expanding universe is all God's work.

Yes God created other planets....It stands to reason that if He created the earth, He created other planets as well. (Genesis 1:14-19, Revelation 4:11).

@VivaLaDani13 Again, continuing in my research lol I quoted what Hindu Mythology has to say on creation in my other comment. You can check that one if you haven't already. Here I am quoting creation in the Sikh scriptures. I attached the link for detail study. I suggest you start reading from the title What Gurbani says (Gurbani = Teacher's words. Guru Nanak was founder of Sikhism and the first Guru / teacher.) The more you say about them, the more there still remains to be said
From SikhiWiki Jump to: navigation, search     Can you find the pale blue dot? This is the planet earth! (click on the image to enlarge) ???? ??? ???? ????? ? ?? ?? ??? ? ??? ? ??? ? "There are planets, solar systems and galaxies. If one speaks of them, the
