Healthy Eating Kids Lunch
Austin, Texas
July 19, 2016 2:46pm CST
Sharing a link to a foodie newsletter. It's focus is on childhood nutrition, but we could all benefit from the advice. There is a push to make lunches in American schools healthier. Hope the school cafeteria officials read this. Have to say these suggestions are pretty good! Did I say “pretty good”? It's better than that. This is the first time an article was published where I actually like everything on the list!
Starting children early with healthier versions of junk foods will lead to healthier eating throughout life. Here are a few junk food swaps.

And if someone could come up with a vegetable that tastes like chocolate we would all be healthy lol.

It's been a while but I'm almost certain that I came across an article discussing a fruit that supposedly taste like chocolate. You made me go back and check. I think it was first published at Squidoo. But Squidoo was acquired by HUBPages and I just rechecked. Yep! The fruit is called black sapote. Thanks! I need to share that link in my circles.

@fishtiger58 - It's a tropical fruit, according to the article can be found in Florida. I'm from Florida and didn't know anything about it!

My grandkids hate the healthy alternatives their school has come up with, they refuse to eat them.
