Good Morning Mylotters. I am very happy today for reasons not known to myself. Feeling very active and want to work as much as possible.
Brown rice is will be having a nutty smell and it is unpolished rice. It is rich in nutritional value. It is produced by removing the outermost layer of the rice. It is a rich source of Vitamin B6, selenium, magnesium, phosphorus, niacin, thiamine, and is rich in fibre. This rice also called 'ROUGH RICE'.
The thiamine deficiency disease Beriberi can be cured by preferring Brown Rice in place of White rice.
During the 1970s and 80s, the brown rice was available in almost all villages of India. But, with the advancement of technology, it is not getting encouragement
I just want to know whether it is preferred in your countries.
When a further layer of a brown rice is removed and polished it is called white rice which will be devoid of nutrition values and other Vitamin B1 and B3. In U.S the loss of these vitamins are supplemented externally and this rice is called 'ENRICHED RICE'. For using this name one should comply with the F.D.A regulations.
When cooked, this rice will be soft and more pasty. So, one should use appropriate amount of water while cooking this rice.
