Virginia Beach: More To See and Do

United States

In October, some gal pals and I will be going to Virginia Beach to spend a week at our Time Share. So, I have been doing some more research on what to see and do at Virginia Beach. I will spend a small amount of time on the beach, looking for shells, but I won’t be going in the water. I will be eating at several SEAFOOD Restaurants, but I won’t be going fishing. So I found some other things to do, especially if we have a “Rainy Day.” We ALWAYS go to lots of Thrift stores. We know where most of those are and we make a day of it, with lunch at a seaside restaurant. I’ve been to the Virginia Aquarium & Museum Science Center, but it’s been a few years and I understand that there are lots of new things to see there. I especially want to see the “Washed Ashore” displays, which feature “giant sea life sculptures made entirely of marine debris collected from beaches to graphically illustrate the tragedy of pollution in oceans.” That is quoted from one of the visitor’s guides. We haven’t been to the Virginia Beach Antique Mall either, which is 12,500 square feet of antiques and collectibles. One of my pals also wants us to go have our pictures taken at “Flashback Old Time Photos.” They provide the costumes and historic props for anything from saloon girl to Southern Bell, or Cowboy to General. All you have to do is strike a pose. Sounds like fun to me. I have a photo like this that I had taken on one of my trips out West. I’ll have to put it up here for all to see. I know where the photo is. We also thought we might take the “Taste Tidewater Tour,” a service that takes passengers safely from farms to restaurants to wineries and breweries. We haven’t done that before either. And then we always include our favorite place to sing karaoke, at Wannabes. I may not be able to sing this year, because I’m having some breathing issues. But, if you want to hear me sing, you can go to this link: This song was recorded at Wannabes a couple years ago. Picture by Pixabay

My relatives used to live in Virginia Beach when my brother in law was in the U S Navy.
