My cats have been full of energy this morning and loved the broom activity that had them speeding up and down the passage causing total havoc with the scatter mats on the wooden floor.
Picasso stops for a moment and gives a few little moaning meows and then tackles Talu at the scruff of her neck sending them both into a slide motion down the front veranda steps.
The both come back to their feeding bowls and do a few meow calls of various pitches, to which I reply "you have both had breakfast, now go and find a nice place to nap!"
I have a feeling they clearly understood either the words or my tone, so they are now up and down on the couches looking for a place to settle.
I hope they will settle down soon otherwise NO cat-nip for them this afternoon.
Do your furry felines chat up a storm with you as well?
I have decided to share one of my Ephesus photos of the ancient ruins that was flooded with wild cats. We loved how they walked behind us on most of the routes. We actually even gave some of them water out our bottle caps - Probably naughty of us, but we couldn't resist. If you have been to the arid landscape of Kusadasi you would understand.
Isn't she just supremely Regal?

I think I am more shocked at the fact that they listened to you and didn't give you more of a fuss about feeding them!
The cat pictured sure does seem to think herself royalty!

@Inlemay I don't think I have ever owned a cat that would listen to me. I even remember a few cats giving me the "What does this human think she's doing?" look.

My cat has a funny little miaow but he's getting quite expressive with it. I've heard it said that kittens first learn to call in order to keep in contact with their mothers but that, after they have become independent they rarely use social 'miaows'. It is only when they are with humans that they will continue to vocalise in this way because they see humans as 'mother' in terms of food and comfort.
Of course, male cats especially, use vocal calls to attract mates and to signify aggression towards other cats (though mostly their aggression is silent and conducted through specific postures and body language).

Beautiful picture. I don't have a cat, but Chris does. When I was up there, she's wasn't really vocal until Chris went out go to the gym.
