Texas Stupidity

The Voting Rights Act was passed to prevent 'illegals' from being able to vote. It was mandatory to show at least 1 of 7 approved forms of identification before being allowed to vote in any election.
Texas Drivers License; Election Identification Certificate; Personal ID Card; License to Carry a Hand Gun; Military ID with photo; Citizenship Certificate with photo and/or a US Passport.
Well now apparently, the law has changed about the ID law because it tramples on the rights of voters to vote because they are minorities. Say What???!!!!! If you are LEGALLY here in the US, don't you think you'd have one of those seven pieces of ID??
The brilliance of the Texas Legislature just amazes me. We don't want to step on anybody's toes now do we! Dontcha' just love "political correctness".
A federal appeals court has ruled that Texas' strict voter ID law violates the Voting Rights Act and has ordered changes before the November election.

Well, I am a Canadian citizen since early 90's and, of course, I vote. But I believe legal immigrants, who are not Canadian citizens yet, are not allowed to vote. One has to be a Canadian citizen in order to be able to vote. Is it not the same thing in the USA?

@nanette64 Ha!? That is not right, I think! Citizens should only be the ones allowed to vote.

Thatt's the way it is suppose to be @antonbunot but Pres. Obama made sure illegals and non citizens could vote.

I heard this and it angers me. We do have to show our id's for other transactions so what's the big deal when it comes to voting? Political correctness is going to be our undoing. We're already seeing it played out before our very eyes. God help us. Have a blessed day

It's bad enough that the "illegals" get all kinds of monetary support that citizens of the US can't @Dena91 .

I can not see anything wrong in proving that you have the right to vote. I know many Americans do not own a passport but there are so many other forms of identification. I am with you all the way !

I have a feeling that if Donald Trump is elected President, the new law will be thrown out considering his view on illegals @garymarsh6 .

@nanette64 Oh I heard about this, and giving it some thought... Yeah I see your problem. Because as a black man with state i.d.(shock and awe, I know) and who's voted for Obama on both elections(again, I know, "what a shock, right?") I think I'll live. And I'm living from paycheck to paycheck with my parents!!!! So unless these "minorities" they're "discriminating" against are hoboes, I don't see the problem.
