My Foreign Policy Experience?

It's 2016 and the month of November will be here sooner than you can say Christopher Boyce. The Republicans are wrapping up their convention and the party for the Democrats is next. I mean … the convention for the Democratic party is next.
Then there will be debates between the nominees, the results of which are usually the reasons why a person chooses to vote for a particular candidate.
There has been a lot of talk about one of the candidates lack of experience and/or knowledge about foreign affairs or foreign policy.
The question is always asked, for every election, not just this one:
- What makes you, Mr. or Ms. POTUS Hopeful, qualified in this particular area in order to be adept at foreign relations and an influential force for good on the world stage?
It's a reasonable question.
Was watching an advertisement for a movie website the other night and the guy says:
- “My foreign policy experience? I watched all the Bourne movies, twice!”
LOL.
That may not be the exact quote, but if that's what makes a person qualified then I'm more qualified cause I lost count of how many times I watched “The Falcon and the Snowman”.
Jason Bourne is fiction. Christopher Boyce is a real person. True story.
“The Falcon and the Snowman is a 1985 spy film directed by John Schlesinger about two young American men, Christopher Boyce (played by Timothy Hutton) and Andrew Daulton Lee (played by Sean Penn), who sold U.S. security secrets to the Soviet Union.” (Source: Wikipedia)

I am an election judge in Illinois. I have to vote, and haven't missed voting in any election since 1976. Every year our choices get worse, in my opinion, This year I am at my wits end trying to decide who gets my vote.

I must agree with you. The choices don't seem to be the “cream of the crop”. My husband is a naturalized citizen. … By the way, just for the record, he obeyed the so-called “broken” U.S. Immigration laws. Anyway … that's another story. … Back to the 2016 candidate selections. My husband, as somewhat of an outsider, wonders why with so many people who are politicians or public servants or business people or just AACs (average American citizens), why there isn't a better pool of contenders to choose from. I'm not sure I have the answer for him. But my response or best guess is: “Those are the ones who said: 'Put us in coach! We're ready to play. Then they stepped up to the plate and started swinging!'” It's a lot of qualified people out there. But it looks like though they may be qualified, they just don't want the job!! It's a really really really hard job!!

@cmoneyspinner And not only that, if you don't have millions of dollars to spend you won't win. Period. It's a popularity contest sometimes I think.

Hillary Clinton, who will probably be the Democratic nominee, has had actually quite a bit of foreign policy experience as Secretary of State, but I don't like the way she has handled the affairs of the foreign policies of the USA.
Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, has had foreign experience having to do with being a successful businessman involved in international business and trade which would have to make him somewhat knowledgeable about foreign governments in terms of trade and customs and policies which I think will give him a good starting perspective to serve as POTUS and be able to make good foreign policy decisions.

Trump is a hotheaded narcissist who will lead us into war. I am glad he can't win.

@JamesHxstatic - I'm not convinced that he can't win.

Good movies to watch during the debates. I liked both, but the debates could be entertaining. My candidate better win or New Zealand may get a new senior citizen.

If I'm going to move to another country, New Zealand is on my list.
