Food Fight (A Poem)

Tim grabbed his pizza Much to high delight. He hurled it Jack and announced, "It's time for a Food Fight." Mary took her salad. The lettuce was wet and green. She threw it at Matilda Which made for a ridiculous scene. Matilda took her chocolate cake And threw it up in the air. It landed on Donovan. Right on top of his hair. Katy laughed and laughed. She thought it was so funny, But her laughter faded quickly When her face was splashed with honey. The food flung here and there. The cafeteria workers were very upset. "Stop this now," shouted Ms. Morrows, "Or very soon you will all regret." Principal Skinner looked upon The chaos in his midst. He shouted through a loudspeaker And gave a steamy hiss. "Stop this at once! No recess time for you." The children cried in unison, "Boo hoo hoo." But the students had to clean up The disgusting, awful mess. And finally when things got back to normal Linda removed macaroni from her dress. Food fight, food fight, It's fun to have one day in your life. Just remember to hurl the food, And not your spoon, fork, and knife.
