The Associated Press reports the news the Arizona Diamondbacks have activated from the 15 day disabled list outfielder and infielder Chris Owings from the 15 day disabled list on Saturday. Owings had been placed on the 15 day disabled list on June 11, 2016 which was retroactive to June 6 with plantar fasciitis on his left foot. Owings was called up from the Diamondbacks AAA minor league team the Reno Aces where Owings was a rehabilitation assignment. To make room for Owings on the Diamondbacks 25 man active roster, shortstop Nick Ahmed has been placed on the 15 day disabled list with a right hip impingement. According to Jody Jackson Owings will be using rubber cleats on his shoes to prevent another problem with the injury that sidelined him in June. The Cincinnati Reds are hosting the Diamondbacks in a three games that is being played at The Great American Ballpark this weekend.

Owings is a starter they need though the D-Backs are done for the season.
