Poem - Sabbatical

@Jessicalynnt strikes again with another five word challenge and this time the words are; island, beach, sea, sand, and relax.
Sabbatical
I thought my mind was fanatical
With devotion to me
Until he took an extended sabbatical
Leaving behind only insanity
While he went off to relax and chill
Leaving me feeling cold, insecure and ill
With hypochondria and every other disease
I’m stuck in brain-freeze writer’s block land
While he gets to build castles in the sand.
It isn’t true that no man is a (deserted) island
I’m marooned and with no mind I can’t understand
Why my mind would abandon me this way
Hoping he’ll come back to my head some day
But I expect he’s found a new friend to see
And share the World with, looking at the sea
Through fresh eyes, the son of a beach
Thinking for himself, beyond my reach.
The Muse finds I’m struck dumb between my ears
Without a wave or a kiss she offers no comfort for my tears and fears
As she sets off to join my mind in adulterous betrayal of little old me
Left stewing in bitterness, resentment cynicism and insanity.
Hope you are enjoying your indefinite holiday
Mind, how could you be so cruel and hard?
You never even sent me a single solitary postcard.

Oh that was really good, it's kind of sad you didn't get a lousy t-shirt, or a postcard from the absentee mind, lol
