As per news report: "The analyst in the financial world and Apple management doesn't seem to be worried and place the blame on the slow moving economy for the drop. After what has been happening around, I cannot help to disagree what is being reported by the papers. I have other considerations with regards to this sales drop in apple listed as per below: Is iPhone loosing its popularity? Everyone knows that phone after phone Apple has remained stubborn to the demands for changes to its features and functions. I suppose that is the iPhone's culture but I think the market has responded here. Is iPhone stagnant? Regardless of its iOS upgrades and system apps I believe the Androids have a much better variety and apps for the mobile end users of today. Do you think it could be politically motivated? No need to guess since my country is known to be the largest demand for the iPhone and there are already dissent over US after their involvement in the recent South China Seas legal entanglement. Oil Supply, Middle East War and many more. What do you think? Are there other causes that you might know of here? Image courtesy of FreeDigitalPhotos.net

@wiLLmaH Just to let you know that there's no such thing as a non penetrable smartphone and there were already a number of iPhone's being hacked already. As for the device's user-friendliness I believe as long as the phone does not run out of memory, there will not be any problems as far as the functions are concern and I must say that the iOS is much stronger in the department than the Android rivals.

Android operated phones have the best of both worlds. They can offer cheap phones for the poor and lower middle class while they also have high end expensive phones for the rich. Iphones only serves the rich.

Not forgetting the abundant free software available as compared to iPhones (paid software) and Microsoft's limited availability.

I am not an iPhone fan. In fact I think iPhone's price is not reasonable. Today there are still many good smartphones with reasonable price. I don't understand why people have to be crazy about iPhone. It is not worth that money unless some people want to have iPhone to show off.

I lost my interest with their phones when news emerged on how they treated our citizens in Foxconn. It would be insensitive of me to support such a hypocrite company.

People can get easily bored and swayed. Phone manufacturers must constantly come out with new and innovative ideas and designs in order to entice consumers. Then there's also the question of price. I think if they can come out with an entirely new concept with new lower pricing they may just regain their share of the market.

iPhone to my knowledge is never cheap and in fact the most expensive compared to the Android rivals where even the famous Samsung is never close or considered competitive. Yet, it (Apple) has stayed on as a top selling brand for a considerable length of time. So it came as a surprise to learn that their sales has dropped. But against what the analyst experts and management may say I'm anticipating that there are other causes for the drop.

I never really think about it. I buy what I like. I do not worry about weather it is popular or not.

In my country everywhere you can see quite a few iPhone owners amongst the mass. It is really very much demanded item and such had made Apple the number one selling smartphone for as long as the series was upgraded.

I don't have an iPhone so I have no idea what is right or not where Apple is concerned.

No worries but I'd just like to clarify that I'm not trying to point out the wrongs of Apple or that I have anything against or much more for the company. Undeniably iPhone is really one of the success stories of Apple and I believe you would know the reasons for it. Never had the world seen such a marvelous genius work and the user experience it brought to the users. However, it was much of a talking point as Apple still does not seem to be proactive to the demands of the mass majority as far as adding new features and functions. Yet it had remain as the no.1 leading selling phone around the world. A lot of people around has been anticipating for the inevitable drop bur each time they launch another series, the demands just kept increasing. This time the sales have dropped and has been for 2 consecutive semesters. According to experts they are saying that it is due to the poor economy but I am thinking otherwise since the sales of iPhones was not affected during the economic crisis.
