How many of us genuinely read an entire post before commenting?

I think a lot of people need to ask themselves this question? It all boils down to what exactly are you here for? Yes it would be stupid to say that you are not here for the extra money. Everyone is. But even if you are are you wanting quick money with less hard work or do you take the time to be a genuine user on here and do everything that is required here like interacting, reading commenting and posting. I am sure a lot of people just open the post, check the title, a few comments and end up commenting something similar. There are very few people who take the time to read the entire post and add a genuine comment. Are you among them?

No, I am not among them. I really read every post that I make comments or responses. It is not good to just respond or comment without reading and understanding it first. I might make mistake in responding or commenting. I don't want to misunderstood them or them misunderstood me.

Yes thats right. it happened on my post once. There was a user who commented something not in relation to my post and I knew it was just a random comment. it did upset me because you feel like that user has just used your post to make money. I did however tell that user that his comment wasn't relevant but i never did get any reply.

@magallon yes some people do get insulted I guess. It is better to read properly than to be told off in front of everyone. Glad you read the posts properly now.

@cxndie There was a time here, that I made a mistake in responding. I misunderstood his post, so he told me that I got it wrong. I asked sorry and corrected my response. I don't like to happen it again that's why I really read posts sometimes twice.

I think sometimes people write too big stuff and hard to read so just mere comment on the basis of title is there.

Yes besides the extra long posts, do people even read the short ones?

@cxndie I guess so. but there is no reward for them to read and write...so.

You always know for sure if the comment actually has to do with the post. I know another site or 2 that is now gone where so many people just left plain thanks for sharing type comments.

Yeah, I too know a site where people would be like "Thank you for your post" and a smiley face. It was like it was a copy pasted comment on every single post.

I do read all the post not just the title and I refuse to read others comments til I have formed my own. I have had a lot of people show that they skipped parts of my post and just read the title and some comments. then just stole one of the comments

I have come across the same as well. Some people dont even know what the post is about but pass some really weird and annoying comments or just copy paste.

I always read a post before responding to it. It is not right to like or respond without reading the post.

@silvermist Yes thats true, but if the post is too long you can still also go through it and not just ignore the entire post. some people do that.

Well if I'm being genuine … here at myLot' not at sites or blogs where you expect to find longer articles. Here at myLot ... if it's a short post, I read it all. If it's a lengthy post, I go find a short post to read. And that's the truth!

I read the post fully no matter how long it is.. if I don't have the time for it then.. I open it and keep it for later reading. I get annoyed with those who don't read fully and respond to just what is there in the title often that could be misleading..

Yes it is not right to just read the title and comment. What if the titles is merely related and there is something that is more meaningful inside the post that is missed out on. It has happened a whole lot with me and it does upset one. But honestly if the post is too long I wont take the time to read it. And by too long I would mean past 500 words.

I don't comment unless I have read the entire post....there are two many extremely short posts. Most of the don't warrant my attention, let alone a comment.

I wouldn't comment unless I read a post. I read books that are several hundred pages long, why wouldn't I read the whole post here.
