Seattle is well known for its rain, so it's only natural that a band from there would write a song about it. I'm talking about #6 in my Favorite Songs about Rain series (which I've totally ripped off from @JohnRoberts,) "Another Rainy Night (Without You.)" Metal band Queensryche formed in the Seattle suburb of Bellevue in 1982, and set about creating what SPIN magazine called "thinking man's metal." "Another Rainy Night (Without You)" was a 1991 single from the band's wildly successful 1990 triple-platinum, Grammy-nominated album, Empire. A radio-friendly song about a gent pining for his lady on a lonely rainy night, "Another Rainy Night (Without You)" reached #7 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. The song was performed by the group's classic lineup of vocalist Geoff Tate, guitarist's Chris DeGarmo and Michael Wilton, bassist Eddie Jackson, and drummer Scott Rockenfield (Tate and DeGarmo are no longer in the band.) The song is pretty tame by today's metal standards. It ranks among Queensryche's best and is one of my favorite rain songs.

I know of Queensryche and a few of their songs. I know my parents really like them (hope I'm not making you feel old, haha!) I should check this song out. It's crazy how many great bands have come out of Seattle, just a random thought. I know it's a large city, but it is no New York or Los Angeles or anything of that magnitude.

@teamfreak16 Yes, it really does, doesn't it? So much beyond just the obvious Grunge bands! :)

Always will be one of my favorites. Seems like another band fans are at odds with because of the singer change.

I haven't listened to anything they've done since Tate was fired. He's one of my favorites.
