i am so glad that I found this book, Very Good Lives by J K Rowling, in the library today. It is actually a commencement talk that she gave to Harvard graduating class. I learn that she has worked in Amnesty International before, and that experience impacted on her ability to use her imagination. She said that using imagination to put ourselves in the shoes of others is the best use for it. She said that those of us who live in a country with human rights should use our imaginations to know the suffering by those who lived in countries where the rulers killed anyhow. This is the first time I read of using imagination in this way, though empathy is always taught by leaders and teachers to help us become a kinder person.
