Shams Charania reports the news the San Antonio Sours have signed free agent center and forward David Lee to a two year, $3. 2 million dollar contract on Thursday.
Lee was a first round draft choice of the New York Knicks in the 2005 National Basketball Association Draft out of the University of Florida.
Lee started the 2015-16 basketball season with the Boston Celtics before he was released by the team on February 19, 2016.
Lee signed a contract with the Dallas Mavericks three days later. Lee became a free agent at the end of the 2015-16 basketball season.
Lee is recovering from an injury to his right foot that limited his playing to two games time during the playoffs versus the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Lee who has 11 years of experience in the National Basketball Association will serve as a reserve player with the Spurs as starters LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol will get the majority of playing time this upcoming basketball season.
Lee signed with the Spurs since he believes the Spurs give him the best chance to win his second championship ring.
Lee was a member of the Golden State Warriors 2014-15 basketball team that beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in the National Basketball Association Finals.

There was talk he would return to Golden State. He seemed to return to form while paying for the Mavs. Seems like a solid signing for the Spurs.

I am surprised he did not go back with the Warriors even it would be been taking a pay cut.
