Does a "90% discount" sale ever give you 90% off for real?

I just came across an email that was sent to me from a very famous shopping website that I usually use here. The email said "SHOP FOR 90% OFF ON ALL ITEMS"
So I thought I would do a little research. I went into the site and looked up the price of something I already purchased.
It was three times the price that I had originally purchased it for.
These sites create sales but change the prices so actually there is no discount at ALL!
Funny but true!

There is a funda behind discount, first all such shopping sites raised up the price of the products and then discount them.Secondly,sometimes to clear out the inventory they allow discount.
