Why Lie?!

Why is it so hard for people to tell the truth? I'm speaking in terms where they are talking to someone about something another person has said or done. I know we all look at situations in our own way and even interpret things individually. My point is, if you're going to tell a story about what another person said or did, tell it like it is!
People have to tell their version because they are the same ones that know full well they were in the wrong in that situation! If I am wrong, I will admit it. It's not the end of the world to admit and speak the truth. We are all adults!

Yes I cant stand liars. Some lie as if its a skill. Some lie and get caught and some lie and get away with it. But what bugs me is how liars lie so well that even they begin to believe their lies. yes we are all adults and owning up to something wont make us any small. People make mistakes and its all a part of life.
