How I got some extra discount ?

In June and July, some companies announce exchange offers. This time, I wanted to exchange my old Grinder/mixie and want to purchase a new one. When I entered the shop some lady was there already exchanging a grinder/mixer and purchasing a new one. She showed her old mider grinder with all 3 jars and they gave a discount of 40%. She felt very happy and left the shop. Now, I informed the sales boy that I got only grinder mixer without any jars and whether I can get a new one on an exchange basis. The boy in the counter informed that I can bring the grinder/mixer in any shape and can avail 40% discount. I immediately went out and picked up the mixer grinder leaving the 3 jars in the bike itself. I handed over the machine of the grinder and purchased a new one getting the same discount of 40%. While coming home I sold all the 3 jars for Rs.350/- which was a fair deal.
