I had the best 3 weeks with my daughter. She went home this past tuesday. It was really nice to get to see her and spend time with her. It had been 5 years since I had seen her last. She lives in Colorado, USA and I live in Ontario, Canada. We had a lot of fun and she was great to hang out with. We went to the Mariposa Folk Festival the first weekend she was here. It is a festival that starts around 4 on the Friday and ends at 11 on the Sunday. Some people will camp there from the friday to the sunday. Lots of different artists that play throughout the weekend and all kinds of vendors and crafts that you can do. She isn't able to get out to the movies much at home so we went and saw Finding Dory and the new Ghostbusters. Both were really good, Ghostbusters was hilarious they did an awesome job with it. We also went to the Scottish festival on one Saturday. They did a parade through the town with bagpipe bands from all over Ontario and then some demonstrations in the park. It was really neat to see. Spent most of a day at Canada's Wonderland, an amusement park with rollercoasters. It was a hot day though and towards early evening everyone was getting tired and hot lol but it was lots of fun. We finished off the visit with a Blue Jay's game in Toronto. Luckily it was overcast so the temp was great, not overly hot, Jay's won It was sad to see her go, but can't wait for the next visit. I can't believe she will be 17 soon, time passes so fast.

Five years is a long time, especially in a child's life. You must have been practically strangers when she arrived, but hopefully you remedied that.

Yes it is a long time. We have skyped and talked through phone calls and messages all the time, just haven't been able to visit in person.
