What are some police up to in Russia?

Is religious intolerance rearing its ugly face in Russia again and persecuting Christians? Is Russia up to its old tricks again? What are some police up to in Russia? Is the Russian government sanctioning deviousness criminality? Jesus said: Matthew 24:9-13 New International Version (NIV) 9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. Is religious persecution alive and well in Russia? Will the Russian government protect the fundamental rights of freedom of religion for all people? It looks like they have it in for Jehovah's Witnesses especially, at least in this case. Russia has never been friendly toward religion in general so we should have expected this. As world tensions get worse, I suspect things like this are going to be more commonplace and not just in Russia. Already here in the States, fundamental Christians are being called extremists. Judeo-Christian religions and peoples of any kind are being targeted for laws and restrictions. It's a short step away from being persecuted in a more pronounced way all over the world.

We, who read the Bible, are well aware of the prophecies that point to a world-hatred and opposition to any that follow in Jesus' footsteps. God is watching and in due time He will deal with all opposers of his kingdom. Psalm 83:3 New International Version (NIV) 3 With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish.

@1hopefulman Absolutely. "All who would follow Him must suffer persecution." It has always been that way in some parts of the world. We in America (US, Canada and Mexico, too) and a few other places are blessed in that we have had the freedom to worship our God the way we see fit. Those times are coming to an end and we must be prepared for it.

@peavey Yes, things are about to change in a most dramatic way. Something very similar to the showdown between the gods of Egypt and the God of ancient Israel. (Ezekiel 38:18-23; Daniel 11:44-12:1) "Why Moscow's Ban on Jehovah's Witnesses Is Bad News for All Christians"
Plus: Southern Baptists vote down public school exodus resolution, Senate sets vote for Federal Marriage Amendment, and other stories from online sources around the world.

We can only hope for fairness and justice but only God knows what Russia will do in the near future. But He is watching and sees all!

I was in Russia in 1992 and we were on a convention of Jehovah's Witnesses. We could spread Bible literature on the streets in St Petersburg without problems that time.. Things have changed since then.. The Bible prophecies are being fulfilled, as expected. Shows that we live in the time of the end..

Yes, things have changed and it looks like it will get worse as we near the end. We have to be courageous and rely on God to protect us.
