I want a mum....

Lately I have been watching a lot of the TV show called Gilmore Girls. I bought 4 seasons of it. I really love it.
Only thing is, it makes me sad. It is a good show. Very entertaining but the story is mainly based around a mother and daughter who are also best friends. They talk about anything and everything.
It makes me really wish I had a mum. And I notice as I am typing this that I'm not saying "I want my mum." I really do miss my mum and we were close but she wasn't exactly the best mum out there. I feel horrible saying that but she really did do some messed up things that has pretty much scarred me.
I know it's just a show and it's all scripted but watching it makes me yearn for a mother who I can depend on. Talk to. Get advice from. Spend time with etc.
Have you ever watched a show that made you wish you had something or someone in your life?

@jaboUK Thank you for your kind words.
That's really awesome that you had a great relationship with your mum and now with your daughter too! If I ever have a daughter, I want a good relationship with her.

I love Gilmore Girls. I have seen the full TV series a few times. I wish my mother and I had a relationship like they do.

@CaseyRoss9966 Yeah it's a really good show. I'm only on season 3 right now and really looking forward to seeing what happens.
I think a lot of people who watched this show wishes they had a relationship like Lorelai and Rory. :)

I used to wish for a little more of playfulness in all of my relationships and openness that I saw in TV shows and such. Not that they are all serious but a bit more would have been good. Openness though is not there about certain things. There is no risk taking or any out of the box thinking which I am wishing for right now. I don't watch TV anymore since that all seem unrealistic to me and makes me wish for things I can't have in reality. Why make myself sad and suffer? lol I would rather read and write than watch TV any day.

@Daljinder That's a mature way to think about it all. Because yeah, like I said, shows are all scripted anyway. And they are all actors. So what you see on TV doesn't mean others in real life would be like that.
