I absolutely love Stephen King. He has been my favorite since I was a young teen. Not all of his books are the greatest but either way he is an awesome writer! And also do you prefer to watch the movie or read the book? I much prefer the book you get a much wider sense of what is going on.

I like Harold Bell Wright but that was for a time before even mine he was a writer. Best book he wrote is titled "Shepherd of the Hills" Set in the Ozarks and a love story with mystery and intrique. I also love Louis La Amore I love Westerns and Historical novels and My SciFantasy favorite is Anne McCaffery and her Dragons of Pern series.

My mother loves Stephen King too. I don't really have a favorite author. I like to do both, the book and movie. Most of the time the book is much better than the movie.

I love the books of John Grisham. I'm in the legal profession and I could easily relate with his novels. I prefer reading the book than watching its movie version.

I am a very big fan of Stephen King. I have most of his books, all to me are great. I have seen many of the movies they made from his books as well. Not all the movies are great, but the books are awesome. I do have some of his books that I do not have and need to catch up. And I will in time.

@llovebunnies Pietro Grossi has just rocketed up my list of favourite writers but he still hasn't overtaken Camus, Dostoyevsky or Hemingway.

You might like Ted Dekker, then. He runs along the same vein as Stephen King. Oh, and Dean Koontz. I can't pick one favorite author. I love Karen Hancock, A. American, Ted Dekker, Frank Peretti...

Stephen king is cool. I prefer both but I like to read the book and then watch the movie after. The movies are usually edited and some aspects of the book are not always captured.

There are lots of good books, especially the self-development books that will help lots of people. I like a lot of them like Napoleon Hill of Think and Grow Rich, Dale Carnegie of How to Win Friends and Influence People, John Maxwell of 17 Indispensable Laws of Leadership, Robert Kiyosaki of Rich Dad Poor Dad, Og Mandino of the Greatest Salesman in the World, and so much more. But there is one Author that I like most - God. He is the author of the Bible that is able to change mankind, inside and out, and points to a relationship with Jesus Christ that has an everlasting impact in my soul and the souls of men. Good day.
