Could You Sleep Well When Having a Toothache?

This afternoon, one of my upper teeth ached. I did not know if the filling was gone, or if it is having some other problems. I hate to go to the dentist, and have the filling because when it is is being prepared, she "drills" into the tooth to clean it, and I hate that sound! It makes my head ache! (the toothache becomes a headache!). So since I could not go to the dentist today, I had to sleep it off, but could hardly catch it. It is so hard when something in your body is aching.

No, I couldn't. I had to take paracetamol or chew ginger root to ease the pain. You have to go to the dentist.

Yes, I am scheduled to go. Is ginger a good alternative or temporary remedy? Good to know about this.

@acelawrites Yes, it helped me because of the healing hotness of the ginger root. It was adviced to me by my herbalist late grandmother when I was a child. Just a temporary remedy though until I went to the dentist.

I hate having a tooth ache. It's hard to do anything at all, let alone sleep, when it's hurting really bad.

@acelawrites But, if the toothache is bad enough, it makes it very difficult to sleep for the pain.

I'm afraid that the only solution to problems with teeth is to go to the dentist. Yes, you may get a bit of pain and discomfort while there, but that will be the end of it.

toothache.. toothache
Toothache is annoying, irritating and disturbing kind of pain. It will cause you trouble every time you will have that kind of problem. It is very difficult to sleep if you are having a toothache, it's like the pain is radiating all over your body, giving the chills to your bones, your spirit of sleeping will be alive. There are some home remedies that you can do to alleviate the pain, sometimes it works, sometimes not.

It depends on how bad the toothache hurts. I can fall asleep with minor pain but a really bad one will keep me awake and miserable. Hope it can be sorted out without too much additional pain.

Some dentists use laser drills now. No pain! No sound! I feel your pain, because that once happened to me at night. Thank goodness my dentist lives on my street. He took me immediately. Hope you feel better soon, but you may have to go to your dentist.

You are right, I thought drilling can make the enamel thin, and so it becomes weak.

Toothaches are the worst possible health issues anyone can have, Its annoying because its a constant pain and it affects your head and your neck too. I have recently been to the dentist. I had a gum boil and the pain was unbearable. There is no way I can sleep when I have a toothache. Hope you feel well soon.

I don't have any problems falling to sleep with or without a tooth ache. The only thing that keeps me from falling asleep is when I get hot.

I experienced having a tooth ache. I wasn't able to sleep well because of the excruciating pain I felt. Not only is my sleeping affected but other things I need to do. I can't eat well and properly. I can't think the way I used to think and doing the chores is more of dragging myself. Truly, if one part of your body is experiencing pain, all the other parts are affected. Therefore, it would be good to take care of our health, including our teeth. Good day.
