I grew up watching Sesame Street and so did my mother.
About two years ago a friend of mine on facebook said that he had watched Sesame Street again and it had changed alot since we were growing up.
I don't have kids, but I wanted to see what he was talking about. And yes, it changed alot. They don't teach letters and numbers anymore like they used to.They added a fairy character in the show.
Now HBO has taken over the show and they are really changing things. They will have characters with tablets. Also there was talk about some characters being fired. Now there was backlash about that, and now they say the characters will be allowed to come back.

I'm not sure who HBO are. I used to watch it when it was done by CTW, Childrens Television Workshop, and back then Jim Henson was involved with it, I think. I imagine they changed it to reflect a different society, but that's really sad, because it was pretty good 30,40 years ago. Even if we did have trouble with the American way of saying Zee instead of our Aussie Zed!
