Top 50 Movies of the 80's

United States

As I'm sure you've guessed by now, my favorite topic to talk about is movies. In a place like mylot, they give so many different viewpoints, and offer a unique way for those from countries other than mine to learn about our culture, and practice our language (which I've been told is one reason why people from outside the US come here). I'm writing a blog post about the top movies from the 1980's, and decided to post them here to start a discussion. What movies are included that shouldn't be? What movies should be on this list that aren't? What about movies from your country that you really liked? Share them here! 1. The Breakfast Club 2. Real Genius 3. Sixteen Candles 4. Footloose 5. The Shining 6. Superman II 7. Clash of The Titans 8. Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark 9. E.T. Extraterrestrial 10. Annie 11. Tron 12. Fast Times at Ridgemont High 13. Poltergeist 14. I have seen about 40 of these. You left out Tootsie, Fatal Attraction, This is Spinal Tap, Back to the Future, Die Hard, The Elephant Man, Airplane. The Road Warrior, Do the Right Thing, Raging Bull, Blade Runner, Blue Velvet.

I only had 50 spots to fill. I know I left out a bunch. The 80's was such a great decade for movies. I even thought about adding Earth Girls are Easy, but that movie was really stupid, regardless of how fun it was.

@grvdubey11 I've never heard of Blue Velvet. If it was that good, I'll have to check it out.

Additions from my side Platoon (one of the best of Oliver stone) and Full Metal Jacket ( excellent movie made by greatest director Stanley Kubrick)
