Is this useful?

I went to attend one lecture recently about the person who talks about mindfulness. It was nice introduction and the content being shown in the lecture. The best part about the lecture was trying to control the negative thinking. How to do that? Simple. Whenever you feel like worrying about future or past. Just ask yourself one question. Is this useful? This question will remove most of the issues from the life. And it can put you in present and you can do things that you're supposed to do. This also works well if you have depression and few other things that may trouble your health. I have started to practice this immediately. Hopefully this helps.

I really like your topic. I am a true believer in affirmations. I think your affirmation "is this useful" is a great one. Affirmations have literally gotten rid of the negative chitter chatter I was once haunted with. Great post, I look forward to reading more of your posts!

When worrying about the past or future, asking ourselves if it is useful sounds interesting to me. Yeah, I agree with this saying and I think that it is helpful. Things past cannot come back and things in the future are still yet on the way. We do not need to worry about so much. So what we are supposed to do is perhaps to be more practical: to live our current days more beautifully.

It is certainly a good way to overcome worry and other negative thoughts. I learn a lot from that simple question. I know I will have to do that whenever I have something in mind: Is it useful? Particularly, is it useful to me in reaching my purpose? That would be wonderful. Lectures and seminars like this would really be an enhancement to what we have. We need these kinds of lessons so we can expand our horizon and become better. I like those kinds of lessons which can add dimensions to my personal development program.

This is why we need to be doing things that we are most likely get ourselves busy from even thinking of the past or future. But instead we should do our best to be living in the present.

In some way yes. I do that to myself. I will ask "Is this helping me anyway?" And then I start to calm down and think rationally

I am into meditation and yoga, and those have helped me a great deal to have a control over my mind. Meditation charges your body from within and softens the mind with calmness.

i'm glad'ja were able to attend. we've all choices'n life - the way we choose to deal with lives hiccups'd be one 'f 'em. i also ask myself if'n somethin' 'tis useful, fixable 'r somethin' that i've absolutely no control o'er. put all 'nto perspective 'n concentrate'n all the good'n beauty that abounds...if'n we take the time to jest see.

I ask myself that all the time but I also ask myself if I really require it - but it depends on the context.
