Wiener Roast

Last night at 6 pm there was an event for families at a nearby church. We arrived about 20 minutes late after packing up all the yard sale stuff.
The event was a lot of fun. They played battleship with water balloons, baseball with water balls and then everyone went inside to eat.
There was hotdogs, fruit salad, chips, popcorn, tea, lemonade, salad and beans.
As everyone finished eating they brought out two big tubs of ice cream and a bunch of different toppings and let everyone make their own sundaes. Mine is the one in the photo and it was delicious!
The last thing was making smores over a small fire. They tried making popcorn over the fire but they burnt two of the bags.
My man and his son got back from vacation last night and came over and stayed the night. I didn't sleep well so I am exhausted today.
I woke up with a terrible headache. It is really hot out and when I looked out the window at about 10 am I saw 2 big turkeys and two baby turkeys waddling across my lawn.
I ran to the store to refill my medications and they had free postcards of what the drug store looked like years ago. It has been in business since 1916.

The wiener roaster with our church in on the 20th...a lot earlier than we usually do it. One member lives in the country on the river and we take a hay rack ride down to where we roast the wienies and such. It's so much fun every single year.

That does sound fun. I am not a member of any church but we go to church events like vacation bible school etc.

baseball with water balloons?? i bet that 'twas a hoot 'n a half, lol. glad y'all got to go, that sundae looks purty tasty. how nice to've seen those turkeys. bonus'n those postcards! i'd love to've one :D

@crazyhorseladycx I hate getting wet as well so I know how he feels. Getting rained feels the worse my skin feels all gross and smelly after.

I didn't get to watch the baseball with water balls as my son wanted to go in and shoot hoops while all the other kids got wet. He hates getting wet and usually won't join in with most games. I think the photo on the postcards was from the 70s. I wish it was an older picture of the store but it just says on the back how long the store has been opened. If I get down to get another free one I will mail you one.

I get severe headaches too;/. Sometimes turkeys walk around my yard, but more often they stick closer to the bush and when I'm walking I will walk into a group of 10 of them by accident and then the flap their wings and cluck and get riled up...um, other then that, they kinda just ignore me;)
