Why everyone is only thinking about engineering?

Because people in India feel that getting an Engineering degree is a symbol of status. There are now less opportunities available for Indians in this field so in 2016 there are more Engineering vacant seat than before shows that craze over engineering is over.

@Raj7779 Yep you're right. Even world wide Engineering is considered as best higher education because more work opportunities with high pay is possible only through engineering. Also, the cost of education is lower compared to Medical department, etc. Hope this is one of the simplest reason to choose Engineering. There are several other factors for this question.

@anamika161088 possible. but I feel there is lack of money too. if any normal bank employee gets same earning like engineer, why would anyone want to be wasting their life in engineering is something i'd find it hard to understand. money is the reason people work hard at engineering. I am engineer myself and joined because of money. otherwise engineering is boring

I think reason is less awareness about new fields and sometimes lesser guidance from elders and teachers. In small cities and towns, lack of colleges with different fields.

We are the only person who killed engineering nowadays everybody wants to be engineer why? I am so much upsetting with this. I have completed my B-Tech degree. This year now I am feel regret why I have chosen this.

Scope of engineering is in all-over the world so engineers can be able to make their career in every country and another reason is they want to make their status.

CA is still popular among commerce people. I have handful of friends who are preparing for CA intermediate exam. I have been a student of humanities, as you would know, it is considered the most worthless stream in our education system in India. I was put down by my relatives because I did not opt for English honors which is still ranked better among other arts subjects. I pursued with history honors, people still do not understand why a bright student like me would opt for it. They never respected my liking for that subject, history.
