Best friendships are like a marriage to me

I don't mean that because I have a best friend, I am married to them to where they can't have other fast and true friends. I mean, that I am friends with that person for as long as I am alive. I have a best friend I went to nursing school with. When she got married, she eloped, so no one knew about it. I was so happy for her and I still am. I feel married to both of them. When we graduated nursing school. We had lived together for about 9 months. We had the best time. She helped me understand the ratio and proportion needed for dosages and I helped helped her with anatomy and physiology. It was a fun time. Then when we worked together she had her hubby's car. We got to with at the same time and we went into the bathroom together and I French braided her hair. Now we call each other on the phone. When I was well, I could sleep on a regular bed, but now I am stuck in a hospital bed provided by hospice. It's still like we are married to each other. I send her letters with my artwork on them and she reads them to her hubby and then she hangs them on her refrigerator. It makes me feel good to know I am still loved. Picture by Pixabay.

You are truely blessed to have a friend like that but then its because you too nurtured that relationship.

I know what you mean. I should never have left best friends to live with kids. it hasn't worked out well. I have friends I had for many years but they all live far from me now. but we still love each other
