Good afternoon.A busy day so far.Mike pulled out the last of the Basil He washed them down. The chore part is cutting the leaves. I need four full cup of packed basil. That it will be the final for this year Lot of work cutting the leaves.washed them again. Put them in a plastic bag and will make pesto tomorrow. The garden is coming to an end soon. The string beans just about done. Lettuce done,a few tomatoes that are not doing too well. But the flowers are still in their glorious bloom. Any one here make pesto? The photo is mine.working in the kitchen getting it ready. Have a good one.

I don't make pesto, but I bet yours is good and fresh. Funny, I don't think of pesto that often, but I do like it. You know - you get in ruts where you cook the same way over and over.. You sound like a good gardener! One of my neighbors brought over some delicious cherry tomatoes. We don't have a fenced yard, and we get a lot of critters, or I might want to grow some of those myself. Hers are delicious, a great addition to our salads.

Will the basil grow on its own next year? Or will you have to replant it? No, I never make pesto, though I enjoy it.

I used to make my own pesto when I had a garden. I love fresh basil on tomatoes, mozzarella, and extra virgin olive oil with a sprinkle of salt.

Worthwhile work. I'm still picking parsley, tomatoes, peppers and onions. The lettuce is gone - too much rain. Enjoy you tasks and your pesto.
