@bharatharav - That's the story that runs through all of the history books. He was envious of those who had what he did not have. I suspect it was something even darker and deeper than that. We can't read his mind. But by comparison ... I mean ... don't we all see people each day who are financially better off than we are? Do we decide to make it our goal to annihilate them, as if that would make everything fair and life would be all good? Hitler's brain and thought process was screwed up! Lots of people have bad things happen to them in this life. They don't go around coveting power and position, so they can abuse their authority and kill a bunch of people. It wasn't an act of war where he was defending his country. It was cold-blooded murder!

Did he see Jews as behind the treaty that put Germany "in debt" to the rest of Europe after WWI?

Antisemitism existed in Europe long before the rise of the Nazis. The ideas of a pure race were also not invented by them. What the Nazis did was to bring all this together at the right time so-to-speak.

@MALUSE Under the stars in Montana, I listened to a young Blackfeet Indian kid (aged about 20) tell me about the Blackfeet creation myth. In their mythology, they are the "chosen people." I suppose all peoples want to be "the chosen ones, "the pure ones," or the "original ones." I don't really understand antisemitism, but I'm not a good student of history. I do know that Queen Isabella wasn't particularly kind to Jews, around 1500, and that a lot of Jews came to America to escape persecution in Eastern Europe around 1900.
