#7 in my Favorite "Crazy" Songs series is Paul Davis' classic hit, "I Go Crazy."
Paul Davis was a popular singer/songwriter who had a string of hits in the 1970's. In 1977, Davis hit big with his single "I Go Crazy." The song reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100, and, at the time, held the record for most weeks on that chart with 40.
"I Go Crazy" has been covered multiple times, notably by Lee Greenwood, and Barry Manilow.
Fun facts gleaned from Wikipedia: Davis intended the song for Lou Rawls. Paul McCartney owns much of Davis' catalog, including "I Go Crazy."
This is Dedication to Paul Davis, who just this past april, passed away. He was only 60. R.I.P.1948-2008

Funny this song does not sound so crazy, but I like it. Funny how that works also.

It's a good 70's ballad. Dude didn't look anything like he sounded.

@crossbones27 - A boat would be nice, but I'd rather have a jet ski!

Love this song! Fun facts is right. I can't even imagine Lou Rawls singing this song.
Another fun fact, although it's only half fact because I can't remember the name of the song. But Shirley Bassey (ma gurl!) was offer a song to perform and she told them to offer it to Tina Turner (another one of ma gurls!). But they insisted she should do it and the rest is history! I'm going bonkers because I can't remember the particular song! It'll come to me. My brain neurons just don't fire like they used to. Getting old!

I love Shirley Bassey based on "Goldfinger" alone!

My head must have been in the sand as I don't know Davis or the song. In 1977, I had just started listening to alternative and punk exclusively.

At night, we only got KFI out of LA. And I'm sure you're aware of their format back then!
