I woke up at 8am to get ready for our day. As we are about to leave I wish I had gotten up earlier so we could have left sooner. It's at least a 2 hour drive. Its going to be a beautiful day.
Everything is packed and ready I just have to brush my teeth and throw makeup on.
I woke my kids up at 9am to go and they were not happy. My daughter who is 12 said she isn't riding any rides. My son who is 8 can't play video games all day so he told me he hates me. I told him I love him and once we get there he will love it!
Just wanted to jot this down so you know what we are up to today which will explain my absense here for the day.

I think that's an awesome idea.
Next vacation she can just let the kids know she's sending them to a working farm! Bet they'd appreciate the amusement park more, after spending their mornings mucking stalls!

You're taking him to an amusement park and he hates you?!
If he doesn't want to go, you can take me and my kiddos! We'll appreciate the outing!!
Weell, I bet he'll change his tune when he gets there. I remember being ornery like that. Now that I'm older, I appreciate all the places my parents took me as a kid/teen. I wish I'd been less grumpy about it then.
Hindsight, eh?
Hope y'all have a great time!!
Can you bring me back a souvenir?

It got even better... After driving over 2 hrs I bought two booklets of tickets....$36 for $40 value...
We walked all around and the kids didn't want to go on any rides. I got mad and said okay lets just go home and they said okay and started walking back to the van. My 12 year old stopped after a few steps and said "wait will we get grounded?" I said yes and she said "Fine I will go on the rides". I told them we are not leaving until every last ticket is spent and thet need to quit being so miserable.
They went on the Ribbit which they loved last year and they loved it again. After that they had a great time and were really happy we went.

They were grumps when we got there until I basically forced them to ride after I had bought tickets. Then once they got ln the rides they had a blast. My daughters favorite ride was one that went hundreds of feet up in the air them dropped down like a broken elevator until stopping just before it hits the gound. Yikes you couldn't pay me to go on that.

@infatuatedbby I went on one wooden roller coaster. It wasn't horribly high or horribly fast but I was terrified. I held my sons arm so he wouldn't be scared and by the end of the ride I realized in my fear I held him so tight I was worried he would have bruises today hahaha.

My kids have only been to an amusement park once in their lives and they would be THRILLED if we could afford to go! I'm surprised yours don't sound happy about going at all...

My kids just never want to leave the house.Once they went on the first ride they had a great time. Admission is free. I bought $36 in tickets and it lasted us 7 hrs. I took all our own drinks and lunch then just bought dinner.

Funny, how hard it is to get them off to do something fun isn't it. Last week I "dragged" my great nephew off to see a fire truck inside the library. He did Not want to go and then of course I had to drag him down off the firetruck when it was time to go home.
Was there ice cream?

Well that is awesome your great nephew actually enjoyed it. Same with my kids once I made them try out a ride they had a blast the rest of the day.
Nope no ice cream as I bought them each an apple cider slushie and hermit crabs I felt that was enough..thet didn't agree lol

I had some pretty bad anxiety before leaving the house as always but everything went pretty smooth. I got a little lost on the way up and back due to the gps working correctly. I ran one redlight accidentally and got a little sunburned but I think the day went great. Once the kids got on the rides they had a great time.

I spent $36 on $40 worth of tickets and they last my two children and I 7 hours. I only rode one ride which happened to be the most expensive :-/ It was $3 in tickets per person so $9 for my kids and I to ride it. I remember as a kid my parents only let us ride that ride once each time we went and I'm sure he cost was why!

Children can always have fun at an amusement park. One of my nephews, a little boy of seven loves amusement parks very much. Last month his father took him to our city and visited some parks in our city and he had a lot of fun. He likes Water Park the best and enjoyed himself a lot for a few hours in the sun that both his father and him got so tanned...

I loved going to amusement parks as a kid. I still love to go to them. Roller coasters are my favorite. I am sure once your kids get there they will love it and not want to leave at the end of the day.
