Breaks My Heart

Please tell me why it is so hard for people to do the right thing. Especially when they was raised to do so. I was raised to be respectful to everyone and not to judge or treat people bad just because I feel like it. My kids was raised the same way. But seems my son has taken a different path. It breaks my heart! I don't even know who he is anymore. He is an 18 years old and is an "adult" and my husband and I have backed off and let him see the real world. But in doing so, he has hurt so many people with his behavior. Just makes me wonder, where do you draw the line? When is enough enough?

He isn't living with us. He moved in with his GF and they have a baby now. As far as I know he isn't working, even though we kept telling him to find work and be responsible. Now he barely talks to me because he doesn't like us disagreeing with him. He doesn't like authority at all, really!

he hasn't grown up yet as a real man.. i don't know what to tell you coz i haven't been in that stage yet.. i feel sorry for your son and his family.. hope he learns how to be responsible but as a mother, please never stop supporting your child even if he's not with you anymore..

Eighteen is still so young, it's hard to start out your life already having a family of your own. He probably needs something he can get enthused about, the trouble is we as parents can't give them that thing, they have to find it themselves. Whether it's music, or writing or painting or making movies, he needs something to get energized by. Maybe his girlfriend will be the one to help him find that thing that motivates him. I feel for you. It's a tough age.

Actually!. I was 19 years old when I had my oldest daughter, so I know how hard it was. He loves music and we always encouraged him to keep pursuing that.
