Miles Wray reports the news on Tuesday the Arizona Diamondbacks have activated from the 15 day disabled list right handed starting pitcher Zack Greinke. Greinke had been placed on the 15 day disabled list on July 3 which was retroactive to June 29, 2016 due to a strain of his left oblique muscle that was injured during his last start of June 28, 2016 during a game versus the Philadelphia Phillies. Grienke will make his next scheduled start versus the New York Mets at Citi Field in New York City on Tuesday. To make room for Greinke on the Diamondbacks 25 man active roster, the Diamondbacks have demoted right handed relief pitcher Evan Marshall to their AAA minor league team the Reno Aces on Tuesday. Greinke made one start for the Aces during a rehabilitation assignment on August 5, 2016 before he was promoted to pitch for the National League West team on Tuesday. Marshall had an earned run average of 8.80 in over 15 innings pitched in a relief role with the Diamondbacks during the current baseball season.

They spent a ton of dough on Greinke who has pitched well enough but the season is a disaster for Arizona.

That is true since Grienke is a very valuable pitcher on the team.
