Prince Fielder's Career Appears to Be Over

I remember watching Cecil Fielder play baseball back in the 80s and 90s, especially when he was with the Tigers (who were at that time managed by former Reds manager Sparky Anderson, which explained my interest in them). It was great to see his son, Prince Fielder, become a superstar in baseball as well.
Sadly, it appears that Prince's career has ended. He has undergone his second neck surgery, putting him out for the rest of the season. Additionally, it has jeopardized his ability to play again.
Having recently undergone his second spinal fusion surgery in his neck in the past 27 months, it seems that the dangers of paralysis would be very real and increased if he continued to play.
Fielder's team, the Texas Rangers, have a press conference scheduled for Wednesday, presumably to address Fielder's future.
It'll be sad to see him go, because he was quite the powerhouse; however, there comes a point where his health has to take priority over playing baseball.
I wish Prince Fielder the best of luck in his recovery. If his baseball career is over as a player, I'm hoping he can continue as a coach, instructor, scout, or in some other capacity if he wants to.

He was never the same after leaving Milwaukee. 2014 was an injury lost year then he was comeback player last year with decent numbers though nowhere near his prime. This season had been been bad obviously due to the spinal thing coming back. He's still relatively young but injuries happen. Look at Tim Lincecum. 32-years-old and apparently career over.

Great hitter and was my teams nemesis for years, but never did well against us, so it was OK. Seriously, was always fun to watch him play and sad to see his career get cut short like that.
