There are currently about 109 buildings in the world that are over 1000 feet tall. Dozens of these tall buildings have been completed since the year 2000 and most of them are in Asia.
Here are just a few that I found in my research:
T & C Tower in Kaohsiung, Taiwan: 1,140 feet: 1997
Bank of China in Hong Kong, China: 1,209 feet: 1989
Empire State Building in New York, USA: 1,250 feet: 1931 Probably the OLDEST building, still in use, that is over 1000 feet tall.
Sears Tower in Chicago, USA: 1,450 feet: 1974
Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: 1,483 feet: 1998
International Commerce Centre in Hong Kong: 1,588 feet: 2010
Shanghai World Financial Center in Shanghai, China: 1,614 feet: 2008
Taipei 101 in Taipei Taiwan: 1:670 feet: 2004
CTF Finance Centre in Guangzhou, China: 1,740 feet: 2016
Lotte World Tower in Seoul, South Korea: 1823 feet: 2016
Ping An Finance Centre in Shenzhen, China: 1,965 feet: 2012
Abraj Al-Bait Clock Tower in Mecca, Saudi Arabia:1,971 feet: 2012
Shanghai Tower in Shanghai, China: 2,073 feet: 2015
Burj Khalifa in Dubai, UAE: 2,717 feet: Completed in 2010, is the tallest building in the world.
An architect of some of the tallest buildings in the world, Cesar Pelli, said this: “The desire to reach for the sky runs very deep in our human psyche. Since the Tower of Babel (mentioned in the Bible at Genesis 11:1-9) there is this desire to put a marker up in the sky.”
How safe are these tall buildings, is one question that many people ask, especially after the destruction of the Twin Towers in New York City.
Would you feel safe working on the top floors of one of these tall buildings?
I have been to the top of the Empire State Building and the Sears Tower. The view from these buildings is awesome.
Have you ever been in any of these tall buildings?

Like you, I have been to the top of the Empire State Building and Sears Tower as well as the World Trade Center when it still stood.

I never got to go to NY to the World Trade Center. Several of my children went.

Most of the tall buildings in the world have been built in the last 15 years. Before that, there were only a few.
