Escargots Mail

I just felt like being a little funny, haven't had a good laugh in a while, so in jest i am letting you know that the snail mail to my address has slowed down quite considerably. The other day my daughter who is so proficient in the English lanaguage was reading a French menu at the Pont de Val Resort . . . and asked me what as "E'ss Car - Gots" are? Well I just had to laugh before telling her its her favourite starter - so she looked at me strangely and said "why dont they just call it SNAILS in Garlic Butter?" Touché dear girl - its a French Menu therefore they shall call Beef - 'boeuf' and Chicken - 'poulet' and snails are escargots - the only one you should beware of is 'viande chevaline' that is the Horse meat on the menu!! So is there a difference between Snails and Escargots? Not really as its all in the maintaining of the snails, detoxing of the garden variety and of course left to the preparation that will set the Snails aside from the Escargots. However in SA its called a SNAIL and in France a Escargot! To get back to my heading - I haven't had mail in days . . . maybe the Camels have resigned their duties and have gone on a long vacation to some destination Barry has suggested! The other reason could be that our Mail-MAN took Woman's day off and is not back yet?! Thank you for reading - your opinion is always noted. This is a stamp I received on one of the postcrossing postcards last week - I absolutely love it and it depicts what we are all doing - WRITING, only difference is, he has a quill and we have a keypad!

I rather like writing with a quill, but I am much more easily read if I type on a keyboard. Elegance or comprehensibility? Which is more important?

in both cases most people choose to understand rather than to flatter

I've seen escargots served in different ways. I have had the kind in mushroom caps covered in melted cheese. So good.

You do have further mail in transit, but the problem with snail mail is that the snails struggle crossing deserts and jungles.

We have gone days without mail. There was a threat of a mail strike (and they are still negotiating) but the mail still kept going, but we went a whole week with not even a flyer in our mail box. Canada Post wants to rid everyone of home delivery (which cause a lot of jobs to be lost). The internet has affected the mail business. Wouldn't it be nice to get an old fashioned hand-written letter in the mail? I think we are buying stuff online just so we can get mail! Or do what I do and WIN stuff.

I love winning stuff and that definitely keeps the mail coming once in a while - I think its just a little bit of slow traffic of late

@inlemay My brother in Paris farms his own escargot in the back garden. My wife wouldn't kiss a mouth that has had a snail pass through it.

Soon Barry will follow the camels, I'm sure... He's taking it easy right now after the cataract surgery...

Never tried any Escargots. Son people enjoy Snails. Zimmerman on Bizarre foods enjoy exotic and bizarre dishes. Those dishes that aren't normally eaten in our everyday lives. Well. Enjoy those post cards and mailings. In today's world people are so use to emails and direct messaging so they've put away the stamp and envelopes but there's son that enjoy the old fashion way. Have a blessed day.

We still get a lot of junk mail in our mailbox. So it's a rare day when we have NOTHING. I like getting handwritten letters but because I don't send any, I don't get any! Actually it would be kinda cool to have old fashioned penpals in other countries. It just feels more "special" to have someone's handwriting. We had to cook escargots one year in French class. I thought it was pretty funny, because it had nothing to do with the language. I guess it was supposed to be a part of learning the culture. But it doesn't seem like snails wold be a huge part of the culture, lol.

'n folks wonder why i don't go to fancy restaurants. i nearly hurled 't the thought 'f one'f my beloved equine friends bein' part'f the menu . ya reminded me though that i've a stack 'f postcards that need to get tended to. i've been most lax'n such 's 'f late. the hands not wishin' to hold said quill...the lack 'f personalization from bein' typed jest a bad idea - but temptin' these days.

That is interesting that they put Snail on the menu in SA. Here even on English menus, it's Escargot.
